Driving Tours: Monarch Tours offers a selection a tour itineraries leaving from Edinburgh. Our signature tours provide the very best of what Scotland has to offer while affording the time to enjoy a relaxed day out. Wither you want to see the harbour villages of Fife, the Highlands or the dramatic landscapes of Glencoe, Monarch Tours is able to provide an experience that is awesome. Our Land Rover Discovery can accommodate up 6 Adults without luggage and 4 Adults with luggage.

Our most popular tour - Central Scotland offers some stunning locations with a varied and rich history, perfect if you want to see the real Scotland, with plenty of opportunities to get out and feel the central highlands of Scotland beneath your feet. We often head up to Balquhidder for a gentle hike or drive the Dukes Pass to the only lake in Scotland for a boat ride to a royal hiding place.*

Pick-up: 8:30-9:30 am

Drop off: We usually aim to be back between 5:00-6:00 pm



  • See Stirling Castle

  • Have a wander and grab a coffee in Dunblane

  • See the famous Highland Cows of Kilmahog

  • Drive the Dukes pass - the Highlands in miniature

  • Take a wee boat trip* on the only lake in Scotland

Immerse yourself in some of the most dramatic scenery in the world on this memorable day-trip to the wilds of the Highlands. We will stop off for a pastry or pie at the epic Mhor Bread bakery and continue high into the highlands. Stroll through the James Bond glen of Glen Etive and have a late lunch by the fire at the Clachaig Inn* then meander back down to Edinburgh.

Pick-up: 8:30-9:30 am

Drop off: We usually aim to be back between 5:30-6:30 pm



  • See Stirling Castle

  • Stop in Callander for refreshments

  • Walk through Glen Etive

  • A relaxed Lunch at the base of the mountains

  • Stop at the 3 Sisters - one of the finest views in the UK

Edinburgh and beyond - private tour example

You don’t have to go far from Edinburgh to see some epic scenery. The Edinburgh and Beyond tour is a much more relaxed affair, we usually take in some of the sights of the medieval Old Town and then escape the city. We then head over to Crichton Castle, first built in the 14th century, then to the mysterious Rosslyn Chapel or Glenkinchie Distillery for a sample of an awesome Lowland Whisky. In between visiting all these amazing places, we will stop for lunch at Dalkeith Country Park, serving fresh/local food.

Pick-up: 8:30-9:30

Drop off: We usually aim to be back before 6:00 pm



  • Explore the Royal Mile

  • Lose yourself in Crichton Castle**

  • Restore yourself at Dalkeith

  • Explore the beautiful chapel at Rosslyn or tour Glenkinchie - or do both

If none or some parts of our other tours don’t take your fancy then lets see what we can plan together. Normally we can base a tour around a location or activity* you want to do. We have taken people to visit there ancestral homes, gone clay pigeon shooting done a golf course trail and even gone hunting with hawks, we’ve even went to a few super car showrooms for a browse. Almost nothing is off the cards.

Pick-up: 8:30-9:30

Drop off: Depends on the location but usually for before 6:00pm
