The Monarch Tours Blog is here!

The Monarch Tours Blog

This has been a long time coming, but it’s finally happening, the Monarch Blog - After years of pushing from my wife, and many a tourer mentioning that a blog would be a good idea, I have finally thought they might all be correct.

So here it is! Currently I’m thinking this will evolve into guides, suggestions, my thoughts and opinions on all thing Scottish and shameless plugs for things like the YouTube channel that I am hoping to revive again soon.

I’m pretty sure one thing will be fairly common - places to eat, good sites for a coffee along with some epic places to visit though-out Scotland as well.

Not Another Travel Blog!

Now I know what you are thinking - The internet is an absolute wash with travel blogs proclaiming to give you the best advice from the eyes of a professional travel blogger that spends their time, living their best life traveling the world. Fair enough! Thats not the aim of this blog, after-all I’m a day tour operator - A tour guide, the one that spends days on end traveling around Scotland with people from all walks of life getting asked different questions every day, and a few regular ones as well. I have a different insight to this kind of thing. Meaning I might just be able to, or at least, give a different opinion of being, seeing, immersing yourself in Scotland for the short time you may be here (or living here).

What Will I Cover?

To keep it fairly simple - pretty much anything! We do a series of “Core Tours” that takes in the best sites while basing yourself in in Central Scotland (Edinburgh/Glasgow) - Each one if fully customisable, meaning I rarely do the same tour twice.

I will likely cover big ticket items such as Rosslyn Chapel, Stirling Castle, Distilleries, Glencoe and more - With my thoughts and opinions on each location.

Scottish Life And Politics

Loabster at the Dory - Pittenweem

This is a contentious subject that is often takes us on a deep journey down what can be best described as one of the most tumultuous political landscaped in Scottish/British politics in living memory. As a Scotsman living in Scotland, I have a lot to say about this matter - Wither you agree with me or not, thats a different matter.

Whisky or Scotch

Well its amazing, I drink a fair amount of it and want to share my thoughts sometimes on this.

Food and Drink

If you have been on a tour with me, you might already know that I Love my food, and celebrate Scottish cuisine - We are so much more then Haggis and Black Pudding. We have what I would regard as the best larder in the world and this need to be celebrated.

And Much Much More - You Tell Me What You Want To Read About!

Genuinely nothing is off the table.

My Thoughts Going Forward

Touring is absolutely my main thing, its what enjoy doing, this blog not about becoming one of those full time travel bloggers, but whats the harm in sticking my thoughts down about my experience so you can me an informed decision on visiting Scotland. And if you have no plans on visiting yet, then hopefully you can learn a few things along the way.

Recomendations

There is going to be plenty of recommendations for things, some that might be purchasable online, and if this is the case, I may have an affiliate link to these items. I might make a little cash out of these things, just being honest. But anything recommended will always be something I would genuinely use, drink, eat or use. And if its a place to see or visit, then the same applies to them, if I wouldn’t go or take my family, I’m not going to suggest it.

Frequency In Posting

My aim s to try and get at least one a week done, this should be possibly but I have a young family, run the business and in the summer its likely to get crazy again, so lets see how it pans out.

So There It Is

Done, after years of badgering from my wife, it finally up and live. Have a great one, and hope you are looking forward to the first proper blog.

Cheers

Chris
